Release Notes: Column selection, drag-to-fill, and template variable extraction · September 27, 2026

Multi-cell column selection and Excel-style drag-to-fill across tables. Approval rules support custom choices and field updates. Includes 10 platform updates.

New Features

  • Table Column Selection & Drag-to-Fill: Select multi-cell ranges across quote line items and project plan task grids using Shift+Click for contiguous ranges, Ctrl/Cmd+Click for toggles, or Shift+Arrow Up/Down.
  • Excel-Style Fill Handle: Active cells display a corner fill handle with a crosshair cursor (Drag to fill tooltip). Dragging up or down pre-views and copies cell values across target rows.
  • Double-Click Auto-Fill Down: Double-clicking the fill handle automatically propagates values down to the end of the current section or sibling task group.
  • Multi-Selection HUD Bar: A floating selection bar (TableMultiSelectionBar) displays the selected cell count and column name, dismissible via Esc or applied via Enter.
  • Task Grid Protections: Summary parent tasks lock calculated fields (% Done, Duration, Start) from multi-selection or drag-to-fill, and tasks with predecessor dependencies protect Start dates from drag-to-fill overwrites.
  • Target Entity Badges on Descendant Notes: When viewing or searching notes with descendant inclusion enabled, note cards render interactive target entity badges displaying the entity icon, collection name, and resolved record title. Tapping a badge navigates directly to the target record.
  • Custom Approval Decision Choices & Field Updates: Lifecycle approval rules execute field update formulas upon consensus for custom decision choices, automatically updating target record fields (such as timestamps or reviewer details) while safeguarding protected system attributes.
  • Immediate Veto for Destructive Approval Choices: Rejection or destructive approval choices immediately veto in-flight requests in unanimous approval workflows without waiting for remaining reviewers.
  • Non-Status-Transitioning Approval Choices: Approval choices can be configured without a target status transition to evaluate field updates and unlock target records directly while preserving their current status state.
  • Centralized Approval Banners: Approval banners are now centralized at the top of engagement and quote workspaces directly below the header bar. Banners dynamically track active entities and pending approval requests directly from database state, displaying inline reviewer actions or rejection feedback, and collapsing cleanly when no approvals exist.
  • Approval Rule Choice Configuration: Configure reviewer decision choices inside Lifecycle Approval Rules with custom button labels, style badges (Primary, Secondary, Destructive), target status transitions, comment requirements, and drag-and-drop reordering.
  • In-Context Approval Banner Choices: Approval banners dynamically render reviewer action buttons based on configured choices, enforcing mandatory comments when required and displaying inline submission feedback.
  • Automated Field Updates on Consensus: When consensus is reached on an approval choice, the lifecycle engine evaluates configured field update formulas (e.g., =NOW(), =user.email, =user.role, or custom calculations) and updates the target record automatically. Protected system fields (such as record owner and security tags) remain safeguarded from alteration.
  • Unified Snippet Cards: Snippet content across document variables, engagement snippets, quote snippets, and snippet libraries is rendered in a unified card layout with live modified indicators, scoped notes collaboration badges, and inline rendering controls.
  • Real-Time Snippet Notes & Collaboration: Snippets across workspaces include Notes buttons with real-time count badges and popout windows that update live as team members collaborate.
  • Dual-Tab Notes Popout: The right-hand notes popout window features a dual-tab interface (Notes and Properties) when dynamic properties exist for the object.
  • Quoting Feature Controls: Organization administrators can toggle active quoting components (Markup, Discount, Units) in Settings > Info to customize quote tables and catalog items.

Fixes & Improvements

  • Template-Scoped Variable Filtering: Document template merge tag extraction and HTML preview rendering now automatically ignore template-scoped variables declared via {% set %} statements (such as namespace or local variables), preventing false evaluation errors and keeping merge tag lists clean.
  • Discount Percentage Scaling: Resolved percentage scale handling for discounts and price rules, ensuring percentage values serialize consistently while displaying cleanly in forms.
  • Document Template Merge Tag Extraction: Improved Jinja merge tag detection to filter out loop built-ins and local iteration variables, ensuring only top-level document variables surface as merge tags.
