Tags
Add custom metadata to engagements, accounts, resources, and items using flexible tag categories. Filter, group, and surface the data your firm actually cares about.
Quickstart
Navigate to Settings > Tags to create the categories and values used to filter and group your engagements, accounts, and resources.
In-Depth
Tags are the primary way to add custom metadata to your data in Servantium. Unlike fixed fields, tags are flexible and can be applied to almost any object.
Managing Tags
The Tags screen displays your tags organized into Category Cards. Each card represents a category (like “Service Line” or “Status”) and contains all the specific tag values available within it.
- Click Add Tag category to create a new grouping, provide a name, and select a color from the preset palette.
- To quickly add a new tag to an existing category, click the + Add value chip directly inside the category’s card. Type the tag name and press
Enterto save it instantly. - To edit or remove a specific tag, click on its chip within the category card.
- To manage the category itself (edit name and color, delete, or add tags via dialog), use the Actions menu located in the top-right corner of the category card.
If you edit a tag and move it to a different category, the system automatically migrates all existing records to the new category without data loss.
Inline Tag Badges
On high-density screens like the Resource Planning grid, tags appear as compact, interactive badges. Clicking a badge opens an anchored modal dialog where you can view and edit the assigned tags without navigating away from your current workspace.
Best Practices
Design your tag categories around your reporting needs. If you need to see “Profitability by Region”, make sure you have a “Region” tag category and that it is consistently applied to your engagements.
Commonly used categories include:
- Service Line: (e.g., Strategy, Design, Engineering)
- Technology Stack: (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Client Tier: (e.g., Enterprise, Mid-Market, SMB)
- Status/Priority: (e.g., Hot, Warm, Cold)
